A.F. Cortés Reel
Based in New York City, Cortés is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in filmmaking, creative direction, and photography. As the creative director and founder of NEUPLOT, a content creation and production studio, Cortés directs TV series, music videos, and TV commercials for a diverse range of clients, including Pfizer, Janssen, Chevrolet, Toyota, Post Foods, Heelys, Macy's, MTV, Konami, and Pepsi.
Cortés was the creative and executive producer behind "KID PAMBELÉ," an 80-episode scripted epic drama portraying the remarkable life of boxing world champion Antonio Cervantes. Prior to this venture, he produced, co-wrote, and directed "MANIFESTO!," a transmedia TV show focusing on lifestyle and fashion, in collaboration with Turner Television.
Having co-founded and served as creative director of The Vox Collective, a leading multicultural advertising agency ranked among the top 25 in the U.S. In 2012, he sold his stake in the company, facilitating its merger with the British advertising group Profero, now integrated into Lowe + Partners.
Cortés recently played a pivotal role in the launch of ASI STUDIOS, UNIVISION's branded content division, where he served as executive creative director and advisor. He led the development of a talented creative and production team, fostering a unique dialogue with the Hispanic audience and delivering distinctive branded content.
As a creative he divides the time between commercial and personal projects, earning consecutive AI-AP American Photography Awards. His work has been celebrated by Abbey Road Studios as one of the music photographers of the year, showcasing his contributions to New York's local music scene. Additionally, Cortés has served on the jury at the London International Advertising Awards and has had his photography featured on album covers and in prestigious publications such as The Guardian, New York Magazine, Art Forum, Photo District News, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone.
